Origin Notes and History

Adopted 11 February 2008 on 92J/14, as an established local name.

One time Forest Service employee Cory Delves (now mayor of Port Clements) named this creek in 1981 after his daughter [no further explanation available from Ministry of Forests' files.] Ainsworth Lumber company installed an access road along this creek in 1993, and signposted it "Jamie Creek Road." Jamie Creek is so-labelled on Recreation Map of Lillooet Forest District, 2001 or earlier, and that name has been used in planning documents and discussions since 2001 or earlier, to develop water power on this creek and its main tributary, West Jamie Creek.
