The Rainshadow Wilderness areas of the Lillooet region are some of the
most ecologically diverse in the province. If we are to pass on to our
children a small taste of the wild splendour that once existed
throughout this spectacular part of B.C., it is critical that we protect
all of these areas from industrial development. Remarkably, it is not
too late to establish a connecting corridor of large wilderness areas
from B.C.'s south coast through to the interior. There are very few
places left in North America where it is still possible to protect big,
life-sustaining wilderness. The Rainshadow Wilderness areas are crucial.
But almost all of them face imminent threats from logging.
