Traditionally, bivy sacks are pretty utilitarian spaces, but the Unishelter’s hoop holds the fabric away from your face, vastly reducing feelings of claustrophobia. The “door” is large and easy to enter and exit.
Though the Expedition is cut to fit users up to six foot ten inches (208cm), it is more popular than the regular size Unishelter, even with users of average height. The additional length provides room to bring headlamps, books, water bottles, and more to bed, and the additional width through the foot section provides room for full-length sleeping pads and allows sleeping bags to loft up fully.
Bottom fabric is tough 200-denier nylon, polyurethane-coated for waterproofness to 3500mm.
The top is Tegraltex®, a superbly breathable and durable PTFE membrane laminate, waterproof to 3500mm, with a moisture-wicking Nexus® on the inside for comfort.
The door has a no-see-um-mesh backing for warm summer nights under the stars.
The pole is 8.6mm diameter Easton 7075-T9 aluminum.
All exposed seams are taped for watertightness.
Packed size is 13 x 46cm.
